The February meeting for Big Flat 4-H Club was held on February 16, 20225 at 1:00 at the Harlem Library. Roll call was “Name your favorite cookie.” Members present were Modesty Chamberlain, Avery Fox, Piper Fox, Mason Friedrich, Hannah Klindworth, Isaac Klindworth, Natalie Richman, Mary Simons, Hannah Van Voast and Isabella Van Voast. Leaders present were Hilary Richman and Shannon Van Voast. Visitors at the meeting were Brandon Nissen, Donna and Pau. The American Pledge was led by Mason and the 4-H Pledge was led by Mary.
Reports:
Treasurer’s report had a balance of $1,406.59.
Avery gave a report on winter project day.
Old Business:
Shannon reported that the People Partner Grant application has been submitted. Hannah, Piper and Isabella measured the storage unit for shelves and Hannah got pricing for lumber.
Shannon also submitted the one sentence grant to the Montana Farmers’ Union.
New Business:
4-H Camp counselor applications are due soon. There is a shooting sports workshop today in Chinook. 4-H Camp is June 24 – 27 and is being moved to Highwood this year because Kiwanis is being remodeled. Demonstration Day is March 30 in Chinook.
At the end of the meeting Mary Simons gave a demonstration on “Strawberry Trifle” and she gave samples to everyone.
Brandon Nissen spoke to the group about his time in the military and the college and career path he has followed.
After Brandon spoke we filled Valentine Goody Bags for the residents at Little Rockies Senior Center. We delivered the bags to the 15 residents at Little Rockies.
Our next meeting is March 16.
