Coy Jane (Damuth) McHenry

Coy Jane (Damuth) McHenry, age 79, passed away on March 13, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully with a lovely smile on her face. Coy was living at the Masonic Home in Helena MT at the time of her passing.

Coy was born on September 12,1945 in Townsend, MT to Leo and Adaline (Poe) Damuth. Coy was raised in Townsend. She married the love of her life, Ken McHenry, in 1962 and together they raised their 4 children in Florence, MT with a brief detour to Dickinson, ND. They eventually settled in Chinook, MT where Coy ran an in-home daycare for over 20 years.

Coy loved her daycare kids almost as much as her 6 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Coy also loved the University of Montana Grizzlies. One of her greatest joys was going to a Montana Grizzly football game. Everyone could hear when Coy was in the stands with her shouts of GOOOOO Griz! She also enjoyed shouting loudly for all her daycare kids who played various high school sports for the Chinook Sugarbeeters. Coy loved her driving adventures with Ken. They would just get in the car and drive and stop to visit anyone in the area, they knew. They traveled often to see children and grandchildren. It was always an adventure with Ken and Coy. Coy was a self-proclaimed Bingo Queen.

Coy was preceded in death by her husband of 52+ years, Ken McHenry; her parents Leo Damuth and Adaline Corbett; stepfather Frank Corbett; in-laws Bill and Edna McHenry; Sister Helen Dupea; Step sister Donna Corbett; Son in-law Paul Aldrich; brothers in-law Jim and Ron McHenry, Darrell Haffner, and Ralph Dupea; and Sister in-law Jane Damuth.

She is survived by her 4 children – Kevin (Diana) McHenry, Keleen Aldrich, Kim (Nick) Ramberg, and Doug McHenry; Grandchildren Kristina, Kaitlin, Kale, Tanner, Alison and Ben; Great Granddaughter Nora (and soon to be sister), Brothers Allan Damuth, Don (Chele) Damuth; Sister Lynda Haffner, Step-sister Lucy Corbett; Sister-in-law Linda McHenry; Brother-in-law Wally (Arlene) McHenry; and numerous family members and friends who will all miss her.

Coy's family would like to thank the Masonic Home of Helena for their wonderful care of Coy these last couple years. Also a thank you to St Pete's Hospice care the past few weeks, for the comfort and support they provided.

Services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1pm at the Last Chance Chapel in Helena, MT where Ken and Coy both attended. Burial will be at the Deep Creek Cemetery in Townsend MT. In honor of Coy, everyone is encouraged to wear their Griz attire!
