We've Got The County Covered

Alvin Douglas Hopkins

Alvin Douglas Hopkins born August 18,1973, passed away at the age of 52 at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre MT on Monday March 17, 2025. Alvin was born in the same hospital to Douglas (Doug) and Loretta (First Raised). He was their second child, Doug's seventh child and Loretta's third child.

Alvin was born fighting right from the get go. But he didn't let any of his health drawbacks hold him down. He was always willing to lend a hand and put in a hard day of work. His favorite place to recall working was the Jack Young Ranch outside of Chinook. He traveled around a bit with the carnival and would save all of his coins so that his nieces Jazz and KiAnna could enjoy the fair when he made his way back around. In his later years the highlight of his day was to walk up to the Eagles and Mint Bar in Chinook and lend a hand stocking, cleaning, and just sitting around gossiping throughout the day. He could often be seen sitting outside on his chair watching the cars go by, and waving at familiar faces.

Alvin knew many people up and down the hi-line and never hesitated to say hi. He loved going to the local rodeos, the Chinook Sugarbeeters basketball games, and attended many of their graduations as well. He loved the extended family he gained through his many years of living in Chinook. His family will always be grateful for everyone's kindness and the helpfulness that was offered to him especially in his later years as his health deteriorated. He requested his final resting place to be Chinook because it was truly his home, and it will be where he will rest for eternity.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Loretta, his oldest sister Barbara, and his older brother Wayne. He is survived by his oldest brother Doug Jr., (Colleen) of Ashland, brother Charlie, brother Steven (Nick) (Wendy) of Dodson, his sisters Sandy Gray of Bozeman, Shelli Hopkins of Great Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews that he adored. He is also survived by his aunts Julia (Ed) Doney, Arleta First Raised, and Colleen (Steven) Mulonet, his red headed sister, and family that always checked on him.
